Race Day Timeline
6:30 - 8:00am - Packet Pickup / Onsite Registration until sellout only! (Cash or check made payable to SOAR please!)
7:15-7:25am - 1K Warm-Up Powered by The Paseo Club of Valencia
7:30am - 1K Run/Walk Start
7:40-7:55am - 5K/10K Warm-Up Powered by The Paseo Club of Valencia
7:55 - National Anthem
8:00am - 5K/10K Start
8:30-10:00am - Awards ceremony / Best Dressed Giveaways / (all participants must be present to win).
Where is the start / finish area?
Start location will be in the lower parking lot behind Sears, along Citrus avenue. There is ample free parking on-site. Access parking via either Valencia Boulevard or Magic Mountain Parkway. Please note, parking access from Citrus Avenue will be restricted on race day. Click here for a detailed map of the event area.
Can someone pick up my race packet for me?
Yes, your race packet can be picked up by someone other than yourself. A copy of your registration confirmation will need to be produced at time of pickup as verification. Team Captains - Please contact MGM at firstname.lastname@example.org
if you would like to batch sort your team packets for group pickup. Be sure to communicate your intent to your teammates.
Can I exchange my shirt style / size?
Tech-T styles and sizes are only guaranteed for participants registered on or before 1/21/18. Style / size exchanges can be requested on race day as inventory allows AFTER 10am at Registration Check In. Requests granted after race day incur cost of replacement shirt plus postage as inventory allows. Click here for style / sizing information.
Can I sign up on race day?
Onsite registration will be available at Valencia Town Center during early packet pickup and on event day beginning at 6:30am unless the event sells out. Cash or Check only please made payable to SOAR for all onsite registration. ID required for complimentary Wolf Creek Beer Garden Wristband for participants 21 and older.
Is there a time limit for finishing the race?
In the interest of public safety and impact to local traffic during the event, the MGM 5K/10K maintains a 20 minute per mile time restriction. Course ‘Sweepers’ will be released to walk the course 20 minutes after the 8:00am start, and initiate course breakdown as they complete the course. Click here for a map of the course.
Is Mardi Gras Madness dog / walker / stroller friendly?
Yes! Walkers and strollers are welcome. K9 participants are allowed on the course with registered owner. All K9 participants must be registered and on a static leash. Retractable leashes are not allowed. Please pick up after your pooch.
My finish time is incorrect / missing. Who do I contact?

Are there rules for the costume contest?
Yes, there are three prize categories: Best Dressed Individual, K9, and Team. Contestants must be registered 1K, 5K, 10K, or K9 participants and must be present to claim awards and prizes. CLICK HERE FOR OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
Do I have to be present to claim awards and prizes?
Yes, participants must be present to claim awards and prizes. Requests for shipping submitted after event day subject to $15 pre-paid postage.
